Glowing bullet trail bouncing off a wall in a living room corner

The Tank Avenger Normal Gun looks plain next to explosives and homing shells, but it is the weapon that teaches you the game. Its bullets bounce once off walls. That tiny detail is the key to nearly every clever shot in the game, and it is worth mastering before you move on.

What the Normal Gun gives you

According to the game's weapon list, the Normal Gun fires bullets that bounce once off walls. There is no rapid fire, no tracking and no explosion. What you get is predictability: a bullet goes in a line, hits a wall, turns, and carries on once more. Because it is so readable, you can plan shots in your head.

The two-leg shot

Think of every shot as having two legs: the line to the wall and the line from the wall onward. To hit an enemy hiding behind a block:

  1. Look for a wall near the block, on the side the enemy cannot easily see.
  2. Imagine the angle the bullet will leave the wall, mirrored like a ball off a cushion.
  3. Line up so that second leg ends at the enemy.
  4. Fire, and move at once in case the enemy answers.

You will miss often at first. That is fine. The skill is in the guessing, and guesses improve fast when you repeat them.

The one-bounce rule is a limit too

The bullet bounces only once. A second wall impact ends it. This matters for safety as well as offence. After one rebound, your shot is spent, so you can stand in places where a shot would be dangerous with a two-bounce weapon like the Fast Gun. When you plan positions, remember how far a one-bounce line can travel.

Control the pace

Without rapid fire, every shot counts. Spamming wastes the moment when you have a clean line. Slow down:

  • Wait for the enemy to commit to a movement.
  • Fire into where they will be, not where they are.
  • After firing, relocate. Standing still after a shot is how Normal Gun players lose duels.

Use blocks to create safe shooting spots

A good Normal Gun position has cover on one side and a wall to bounce off on the other. You peek out, fire, and slip back. Because your real body can lean around the battlefield, you can often step physically to find these spots. Keep your play area clear while doing so.

Where it shines

The Normal Gun is strong in tight spaces like the Jungle world, where dense cover and tight corridors reward angled shots. It is also an excellent training tool for every world, since the habits you form carry over to every other weapon.

When to switch

If you find yourself needing to flush enemies out of heavy cover, a weapon like the Bomb Thrower may be better. If the fight is crowded and you need coverage, the Triple Gun fires three bullets at once. Think of the Normal Gun as your baseline, and switch when a level calls for something else. Our upgrade priority guide explains how to decide where coins go.

Upgrading it

Each weapon is upgradeable, and you earn coins in every battle. Since the Normal Gun is what many players use most in the early game, it is a natural first upgrade. Check how it feels after each purchase and stop when it reliably wins the fights you used to lose.

Practice drill

Pick any early level and try to eliminate every enemy using only rebound shots. It will take longer than shooting directly, but afterwards you will see walls differently. Learn more about the game on the Tank Avenger product page.
