A 7-Day Laser Thief Training Plan to Level Up Fast

Follow this 7-day Laser Thief training plan to improve your ducking, dodging, crawling and reaching, with rest built in and a Bomb Mode test on day seven.

Written for: Quest 3 players who want structured improvement · 3 min read ·

Weekly calendar of seven glowing days drawn with neon laser lines

Improving at Laser Thief feels random until you give it structure. This seven-day Laser Thief training plan spends each session on one skill, builds in rest, and ends with a Bomb Mode test so you can see how far you have come. Sessions are 15 to 25 minutes.

Ground rules: this is practical advice, not medical guidance. Warm up, stop if anything hurts or you feel dizzy, and check with a doctor first if you have a condition affecting movement, balance or your heart.

Before day one

Your progress and best scores are stored locally on your headset, so note your starting point in Bomb Mode if you like.

Day 1: Duck

In Free Play, focus only on ducking. Knees-first squats, chest upright, stay low until your whole body has passed. Aim for five levels with zero shield loss. See the ducking guide.

Day 2: Dodge

Practise leans, twists and steps. Spend half the session using only leans and the other half only steps, then mix. Keep your hands tucked in. Read our dodging tips.

Day 3: Crawl and reach

Short session. Crawl slowly under low grids, then work on reaches with a slow approach, pause, grab and retract. Stop early if wrists or knees complain.

Day 4: Rest or Story Mode for fun

Take a rest day, or play a few relaxed Story Mode levels in the world you are on. The goal is enjoyment and recovery.

Day 5: Reading and routing

In Free Play, spend five seconds before each level naming your route aloud. Then execute at a smooth pace. Our guide to reading laser patterns helps. Aim to match your prediction to what happens.

Day 6: Tempo

Gradually increase speed while keeping zero shield loss. If your shield starts leaking, drop back a notch. See how to get faster.

Day 7: Bomb Mode test

Warm up with a couple of Free Play levels, then try Bomb Mode: 120 seconds of grabbing as much loot as you can. Apply the lessons: plan the route, take easy loot first, stay smooth. Compare with your starting point. Our Bomb Mode strategy goes into detail.

After the week

Repeat the plan with a harder focus: tighter patterns, quicker tempo, or tackling the next Story Mode world. The campaign runs through seven worlds and 150+ levels, so there is plenty of room to keep improving.

Tips for sticking to it

  1. Schedule sessions like workouts.
  2. Keep sessions short and fresh.
  3. Take notes on what cost you shield.
  4. Re-run Space Setup if you rearrange the room.
  5. Have fun; the narrator will tease you regardless.

Adjusting the plan to you

A plan only works if it fits your life and your body. If seven days in a row is too much, stretch it to two weeks and take a rest day between sessions. If a session leaves you sore, shorten the next one rather than pushing through. The point is steady improvement, not a heroic week.

Beginners can also repeat days one to three for a few weeks before moving on, since ducking, dodging and crawling are the foundation of everything else. More experienced players might spend an extra day on tight grids or on Story Mode worlds they find hardest.

Keep a simple note after each session: what felt smooth, what cost shield, and how your body felt. Reading those notes after two weeks makes your progress visible, which is a big motivator, and it highlights which skill deserves the next session.

If you enjoy structure, add a tiny reward at the end of the week: a favourite drink, a stretch session, or simply a short Story Mode level just for fun. Linking practice to something pleasant makes it easier to keep going, and consistent practice is what makes the biggest difference.
