Before You Buy Sozo Tower Defense: A Quest Checklist

Is Sozo Tower Defense right for your Quest and your room? A pre-purchase checklist covering headset, space, comfort, privacy and expectations.

Headset, tape measure and glass of water arranged on a rug

Buying VR games is a bigger commitment than it looks: your room, your headset, your comfort and your wallet all play a part. Use this checklist to decide whether Sozo Tower Defense suits you before you press buy. It is built from the developer's published facts, so it will not oversell.

1. Your headset

The supported headsets are Meta Quest 2, Quest Pro, Quest 3 and Quest 3S. Everyone gets VR mode; the colour passthrough of Quest 3 and 3S is what makes mixed reality look its best.

2. Your space

The requirements say standing or room-scale, with a little space around you, because you will reach, aim and punch. Do the wingspan test: stretch your arms in every direction at your play spot. If you can do so safely, you are fine. If mixed reality, you also need Space Setup.

3. Your play style

What do you want from a game?

  • You want planning: placing and upgrading eight tower types over three tiers.
  • You want physical involvement: shooting flyers, punching monsters and casting powers.
  • You want a long campaign: 160 levels, 8 realms, 48 enemy types.
  • You want variety: five difficulty modes from Casual to Ultra.

If you want pure action with no strategy, tower defense may feel slow.

4. Your input preference

Both Touch controllers and hand tracking are supported, and the game can switch automatically. Hand tracking prefers a well-lit room.

5. Your comfort

Take regular breaks and stop if you feel dizzy or unwell. If you are sensitive to motion sickness, read our comfort article first, and start with short sessions.

6. Privacy

The developer states it collects no personal data, uses no microphone, shows no ads, includes no third-party analytics and stores progress locally. Room data stays on the headset. Read the full policy on the privacy page.

7. Kids in the house

The game is not directed at children under 13, and your platform has its own age rules. See our parent article for more.

8. Money

The price is set on the Meta Horizon Store, so check the store listing for the current figure. Refunds are handled by Meta under its policy. In-game gold, stars, upgrades and unlocks have no real-world value.

9. Save data

Progress is saved locally and uninstalling removes it. Keep that in mind when you manage storage or switch headsets.

10. Support

You can reach the developer from the support page with bugs or ideas.

Honest unknowns

We do not publish playtime estimates, frame rates or review scores here, and we make no claims about them. If those matter to you, check the store page and other sources.

Quick verdict guide

  • Quest 3 or 3S with a tidy room and a taste for strategy: a very natural fit for mixed reality.
  • Quest 2 owner who loves tower defense: VR mode is supported and sounds like it covers the full campaign.
  • Someone who needs a seated-only game: the requirements list standing or room-scale, so think carefully.

If you are still unsure

Sleep on it. Read the product page, check the store listing, and look at your room with a tape measure if you can. If you own a Quest 3 or 3S, imagine the path crossing your floor. If you own a Quest 2, imagine the fantasy realms. A purchase you have thought through is a purchase you will enjoy, and Meta handles refunds under its policy if it turns out not to be for you.
