Padlock shaped shadow on a living room floor beside a VR headset

Mixed reality games ask your headset to look at your home, and that makes careful people ask questions. This article summarises the Sozo Tower Defense privacy policy (dated 6 October 2026) in plain English, so you can judge for yourself. It is a summary, not legal advice; the full policy on the Sozo privacy page is the authority.

The short answer

The developer, ThreeFlavors LLC, states that it does not collect personal data, that the game sends nothing to its servers, and that nothing about your room leaves your headset. The game has no account system of its own and no connection to any server operated by the developer.

What the game uses on your headset

To play, the game uses data your headset's operating system provides. According to the policy, all of it is processed on the headset in real time, only for gameplay:

  • Room layout (scene data and spatial anchors) from Space Setup, in mixed reality only, so portals can open in your walls and the path can run across your floor and around furniture.
  • Passthrough, in mixed reality only, so you can see your room. The game does not access, record or store passthrough camera images; the headset system composites them.
  • Head, controller and hand tracking (position and pose) so you can place towers, aim, shoot, punch and cast powers.

The game does not use eye, face or body tracking, does not use your microphone and does not request microphone permission.

What is stored locally

Level progress, upgrades, settings and the identifier and name of the room you last confirmed for mixed reality are stored in the game's private storage on your headset. They are never uploaded to the developer. Your platform may include app data in its own backups under its own policy.

Ads and third parties

The policy says the game shows no advertising and contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs. Because nothing is collected, nothing is shared with third parties.

Meta's role

The game is distributed through the Meta Horizon Store. Meta handles your purchase, entitlement check and platform account information under its own privacy policy. If you choose to rate the game from inside it, the store page opens in your headset's browser. The developer never sees your payment details or Meta account data.

Deleting data

The developer holds no data about you, so there is nothing for them to delete. Uninstalling removes progress and settings from the device, and you can delete your room layout in your headset's Space Setup settings.

Questions to ask yourself

  1. Am I comfortable with the headset itself scanning my room? That is a Quest system behaviour.
  2. Do I want to keep room data after I stop playing? You can delete it.
  3. Do I prefer a game with no online features? Sozo's policy describes none.

Contact

Privacy questions can go to the email on the privacy page, and requests under laws like the GDPR or CCPA are answered within 30 days according to the policy.

Learn about the game itself on the product page, or see the Meta store listing.

How to read any privacy policy

When you read a policy, look for four things: what is collected, where it goes, who else sees it and how to delete it. Sozo's policy answers each plainly: nothing identifying is collected, nothing is sent to the developer, third parties are not involved beyond the store, and deleting is done by uninstalling or clearing your room layout. Use the same four questions on every game you try, and you will quickly spot the ones that stay vague.
