HAUNTED Arms Through the Walls: How to Survive
Giant arms smash through your walls in HAUNTED: Are You Alone. Here is how to slice them down with the axe or sword and keep your composure.

One of the nightmares in HAUNTED is simple, brutal and loud: enormous arms smash through your walls. If you are searching for HAUNTED arms through walls advice, here is what the game tells us and how to turn it into a plan, without ruining the surprise of the first break.
What you are up against
The game describes it plainly: arms come through your walls and you slice them apart with an axe or a sword. Arms that come through the walls can be cut apart piece by piece. That phrase is the whole strategy in miniature: you are not hitting one big target, you are dismantling it.
Treat it like woodchopping, not swatting
Wild flailing wastes energy and swing arcs. Instead, plant your feet, bring the weapon back, and swing through the arm with intent. The game wants you to swing for real, so use the whole arm, not just the wrist. Controlled swings keep you balanced and let you recover before the next arm arrives.
Axe or sword?
Both are available for this job. Pick whichever feels better in your hand and in your room. An axe feels like a heavy, committed swing; a sword suits quicker slashes. If you have a tight room, favour the one you can swing without clipping furniture. Our axe and sword are both part of the arsenal shown on the product page.
Use your room geometry
The walls are your real walls, so the arms come from places you can see. Before the chapter starts, note where the walls and corners are. In a small room, standing near the centre keeps every wall within reach. In a larger room, position yourself so no wall is more than a few steps away.
Keep moving your head
When one arm breaks through, another can follow from behind you. Check your surroundings after each clean cut. Spatial audio tells you where the next crack is coming from, so let your ears lead your head.
Upgrade before you go
Between chapters you can upgrade every weapon in the shop. Stronger weapons make piece-by-piece slicing faster. If this chapter feels overwhelming, the cheapest fix is often an upgrade to the weapon you used most.
Stay safe while swinging
Real walls do not give way. Keep a hand's width from them and do not slash toward furniture, people or pets. Clear the play area so your best swing never ends in a real collision.
A rhythm to practise
Think of each arm as a short loop: spot, swing, reset, scan. Spot the crack or the sound, commit to one swing through the limb, reset your stance so your weapon hand is back and ready, then scan the room before the next one arrives. Players who skip the reset step end up overextended with the weapon far out to one side, which is exactly when the next arm lands. Counting the loop in your head ("spot, swing, reset, scan") also gives your brain something to do besides panic.
Mind your stance
Keep your knees slightly bent and your weight centred. You will turn quickly, and a wide, balanced stance makes turns smoother and safer. If you notice yourself drifting toward a wall, take a small step back toward the middle between arms rather than mid-swing. Drifting is natural when the action is intense, so check your position every time there is a calm second.
When it gets too intense
Gore and sudden loud sounds are part of this nightmare. If your heart is racing, lower your weapon, breathe, and take the headset off if you need to. Nothing is lost, and the chapter will still be there when you come back.
FAQ
What weapons work against the arms in HAUNTED?
The axe and the sword. You swing them for real and cut the arms apart piece by piece.
Do I need a big room for the arms chapter?
The game does not specify a size, but you need room to swing and turn without touching anything. Clear the play area first.
Are the walls really breaking?
No. The arms come through your real walls visually through passthrough mixed reality, but your actual walls are unharmed. Stay inside your boundary.
Can I play this with hand tracking?
Yes. HAUNTED supports both Touch controllers and hand tracking. See the HAUNTED page for details.
